The Architect’s Newspaper’s Best of Design Awards celebrates the best design happening across scales, from temporary installations that touched the imaginations of a small town to new institutions that will leave their marks on city skylines. This annual year-in-review, now in its 13th edition, sought projects from all over the world to determine the best, the most impactful, and the most innovative.
This year, the program received a 30 percent increase in adaptive reuse entries compared to 2024’s edition. This trend went across the board, seen in education, residential, and commercial projects. It appears the strategy to recycle buildings as part of sustainable and cost-efficient practices continues to gain popularity in the awards and the built environment beyond.
