Size 130,000 SF
Located in Downtown National City, 130 East 8th Street is a 127-unit, 130,000-square-foot mixed-use development conceived by Malick Infill Development and Protea National City, LLC as a launch point for the neighborhood’s next chapter as a vibrant urban center.
Designed with versatility in mind, this complex holds opportunity for everyone with a variety of residential units that appeal to a wide-ranging demographic. From four-bedroom street-front apartments with a secure courtyard, to two-bedroom Terrace Townhomes, to co-living and single occupant studios, the development is designed to support everyone. Families, couples, singles, and young military personnel leaving base all have a home at 130 East 8th Street.
Supporting a social lifestyle, elevated communal spaces at the rooftop and residential plaza level provide opportunities to interact socially while admiring sunsets over the ocean, sunrises over the mountains, or star-filled cityscapes of San Diego over the Coronado Bridge.
In addition to residences, a multitude of storefronts supports the vibrancy and urban lifestyle National City is building for its residents. The design focuses on activating each façade, while respecting the existing architectural fabric and scale.
Along B Avenue, flexible micro-retail spaces and a string of second floor offices provide commercial activity that will foster a range of businesses, from start-ups to established vendors. Meanwhile, along East 8th Street, a premier restaurant and corner vendor create active anchors, supporting the city’s vision of an urban boulevard. A carefully curated urban complex, 8th & B aims to complement the use and scale of the adjacent neighborhoods while planting a seed for enhanced urban infill development in the years to come.
Currently under construction, 8th & B is scheduled for completion in 2021.
