San Diego’s waterfront is one of the city’s most important assets. In designing waterside properties, our goal is to respect the working culture that has existed along a city’s edge while also maintaining access to a beautiful resource with new and invigorating spaces that blend public and private use.
The Wharf is a series of ‘fingers’ reaching out to a public promenade. The structures themselves interact directly with the walkway; drawing people in with restaurant access and sun sheltered seating areas while building occupants benefit from some of the most amazing waterfront views in the city. Between buildings, the promenade expands into a combined use space that takes on different characteristics–from a green park, to a sheltered breezeway, to an active plaza with fire pit and other amenities – providing a variety of experiences for everyone.
This is the first of several buildings planned along the Point Loma waterfront and promenade that will transform the San Diego working waterfront marina experience with contemporary work spaces and restaurant / retail sites.
