Heather Ruszczyk

AIA, Associate

San Diego Studio

Heather works to bring purposeful placemaking, beauty, environmental stewardship and authentic sustainable practices to her project work, tracing these themes from a macro to micro scale through the design.  “Well-designed buildings and spaces have a net-positive effect on communities, individual lives and the environment,” she says, a truth that drives her full investment in each and every project to meet its full potential.

In her project work, Heather ensures that no stone goes unturned in considering what a project wants to be and do in the eyes of a program, site, climate, and owner’s goals. One of the biggest factors in helping guarantee this success is the dynamics with consultants, owners, and contractors, and Heather understands how developing these relationships and aligning values is just as critical as cultivating the architecture. As a result, she enjoys bringing teams together, and works to build clear communication, trust and respect; and inspires creativity among her colleagues.
