At this week’s AIA Seattle Honor Awards event, the Bullitt Center was recognized with the inaugural ‘Energy in Design’ Award — called out for energy conservation, giving back to the grid, with standout architecture. Of 140 project submittals, 21 met requirements of the AIA 2030 Commitment – with Bullitt coming out on top, validated by stats and figures provided via a required ‘Energy Calculator’ assessing energy consumption and CO2 emissions. Beyond praise for the building’s net zero performance and sustainability features, jurors also commented on the many human and health/wellness benefits the building extends to occupants and visitors.
