The Port of Seattle broke ground in May on an adaptive reuse project that will transform the historic Ship Supply Building at Fisherman’s Terminal into a modern facility called the Maritime Innovation Center.
As part of this work, earlier this year the historic 1918 structure was lifted from its original foundation so crews could build a new and more resilient base for the reimagined building. It has since been placed back on the stronger foundation.
The Maritime Innovation Center is set to open later this year. It will serve as an incubator for maritime research and development startups.
Miller Hull is the architect for the project. Forma is the general contractor, and PND Engineers is the structural and civil engineer.
