The Torrey Pines Center South building on the University of California’s San Diego campus will provide various technology, human resources, planning and development departments with flexible and dynamic workspaces. Adapted for reuse, this 90,000-square-foot overhaul relocates each department into a single building that encourages spontaneous and active collaboration on team projects.

The 1984 office building is currently undergoing a comprehensive multi-phase renovation that will incorporate Red List-free materials, reduce energy consumption and be positioned to pursue WELL certification or Living Building Challenge Petal certification. The design features a series of three courtyards that connects four buildings by exterior circulation paths and balconies with equitable access to views of the dramatic bluffs over the Pacific Ocean.
