April is a Project Manager and Project Architect with experience in single-family residential, public interest design, and both public and private projects that emphasize sustainable performance. With each project’s unique client, site, and sustainability goals come new design strategies to test and implement. April excels at implementing high sustainability design into her work and exploring environmental opportunity with clients; “It’s something I believe in — helping people figure out how to live lightly on the land.”
Her experience outside of the office in construction, welding, fabrication, and ceramic design enhances April’s understanding of inherent material qualities and building science, a skill and knowledge that she applies in her architectural practice. “Seeing how metal reacts to metal, how clay responds to water — it helps me learn about the inherent material qualities,” which strengthens her understanding of how a building is both detailed on paper and constructed in the field.
