Partner Ben Dalton will be giving a lecture called “Delivering the Nations First NZE Archive Using Design Build Delivery” as part of the 2021 National DBIA Conference.

The County of San Diego’s comprehensive Zero Net Energy plan for its large portfolio of buildings will reduce overall energy consumption by half by the year 2030. ZNE is required for all new facilities.

For the Department of General Services County of San Diego, design-build is the delivery method of choice. This session will focus on the interdependence of procurement, teamwork, design, and construction in maximizing value through an integrated approach resulting in a successful high-performance building on a modest budget. The newly completed East County Office and Archives Building will be used as a case study to demonstrate this interdependence.
